Job Purpose
The Controller position is accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principle.
Key Responsibilities
Develops and implements accounting policies, coordination of systems and procedures, and the preparation of operating data and special reports as required.  Maintains the company’s system of accounts.
 
Establishes, coordinates and administers as an integral part of management, an adequate plan for the control of operations including, profit planning, capital expenditures and cash flow.
 
Compares performance with operating plans and standards, and reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management.
 
Establishes and administers tax policies and procedures.  Compiles tax data and assists outside CPA in preparation of Federal and State Tax Filings.
 
Compiles financial data and assists outside CPA with annual audit of financial statements.
 
Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements.
 
Provides other managers and departments with information required by them to carry out their assigned responsibilities.
 
Assures the protection for the assets of the company through the establishment of internal control procedures.
 
Assists in establishing and maintaining product pricing policies.
 
Responsible for the supervision of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
 
Keep management fully informed of concerns and progress within assigned areas of responsibility.
 
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Accounting.  CPA license required.  Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in an Accounting Management Role.
 
Desired Behaviors
Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Writing Reports. 
 
Knowledge of JD Edwards, Vertex and Peoplesoft software is preferred.
 
Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Ability to handle multiple tasks.
